Ystäväni Piia on tehnyt mahtavia kollaasirunoja. Hänen innoittamanaan raskaan päivän jälkeen kokeilin sitä itsekin. Tällaista runoilua syntyi. / My friend Piia has made some marvellous cut-paste poetry. After a rough day inspired by her I desided to try to make one.

Vielä kerran POP UP-SHOP / POP UP-SHOP once more
TILAA SATTUMALLE POP UP -KAUPPA suljettiin viime viikolla. Mieli on hieman haikea, mutta ei se mitään sillä olemme varmoja että jatkoa on luvassa, sitten joskus, tavalla tai toisella. Tässä vielä melkoinen kuvapläjäys kaupalta napatuista kuvista.
Our ROOM FOR CHANGE POP UP-SHOP closed it’s doors last week. I’m feeling a bit sad but on the other hand I’m sure we’ll continue sooner or later, one way or another. Here’s a load of pictures that were taken on the shop.

I think it´s time to tell the story behind this ROOM FOR CHANCE -POP UP SHOP me and Anu had for a little over a month. It all started when we heard about a local entrepreneur looking for creative people with their own products to fill up her business premises for the last remaining month she was renting it. We called her and set up a meeting the same week. After showing her our creations and talking about the opportunity to put up a pop up shop we already had the keyes burning in our hands and the words “do whatever you like” echoing in our ears. It felt unreal but there was no time to stop and dream. It was time for action.

IT’S A POP UP!
Huh viikon suunnittelun ja muutaman päivän ahkeran uurastuksen jälkeen TILAA SATTUMALLE POP UP SHOP on pystytetty Joensuuhun, osoitteeseen Kauppakatu 19. Kaikki kynnelle kykenevät siis tervetuloa, avajaisia vietetään keskiviikkona 19.6. klo 18 alkaen.

Phew, after a week of planning and few days of being busy and hard working you can find THE ROOM FOR ACHANCE POP UP SHOP in Joensuu, Kauppakatu 19. I warmly welcome everyone to the opening on wednesday 19th of June at 6pm.
Syntymäpäivämekko / The Birthday Dress
Ostin joskus trikoota Eurokankaan palalaarista. Kankaasta tulee vahvasti mieleen 70-luvun disco, mutta hillityt värit miellyttivät. Pala jäi kuitenkin marinoitumaan kangasvarastooni vuosiksi kunnes lahjoitin sen eteenpäin äidilleni. Pian se kuitenkin palautui luokseni, sillä äitini pyysi minua tekemään siitä itselleen mekon syntymäpäiväkseen.
Some time ago I bought a piece of jersey which reminds me of 70’s disco. I liked the muted colors though. I storaged the fabric for years until I decided to give it to my mother to use. However the piece returned to me because my mother wanted me to make her a fancy dress for her birthday.
Kengät eivät kuulu asukokonaisuuteen / The shoes doesn’t go with the outfit 🙂
Päätimme valita melko yksinkertaisen mallin kankaan villihkön kuosin vuoksi. Hihat ovat pienet kimonohihat ja mekon helman leikkasin epäsymmetriseksi.
We decided to keep the model simple due to the busy fabric. I added a metal zipper in the back as a decoration and cut an asymmetrical hem.
